Tale of two former deputies

waleed al-tabtabaei, the first of two former deputies who is the subject of our article, announced after his surrender to the authorities to implement the ruling of the court of cassation which had sentenced him to a prison term after finding him guilty of ‘storming’ the national assembly building, has expressed his hope for an amnesty from his highness the amir. he said he will not return to politics and go back to teach at the university after his release from prison, of course.
we are neither in the habit of gloating, nor there is any grudge against anyone in our hearts. our attitudes towards him and others like him are known to all. our transcendence on hatred and sectarianism is also known to everyone. we have never called for the killing and fighting others because we disagree with them in on beliefs and doctrine, and therefore we hope for a pardon, like others, but we clarify the following:
i think, in accordance with the conditions for giving consent for his return to his homeland and after signing the letter of apology and requesting an amnesty that he does not have the right to return to political work, not in the foreseeable future at least.
and as a matter of fact, it is right on his part to show it as a concession, or even raise the issue, especially since another issue of his own might also have been a barrier to his return to politics. so he is running here, not a choice, according to what we understand.
mr. tabtabaei was supposed to be left alone. we must not mention him as long as he has decided not to engage in any political activity. the danger posed by al-tabtabaei, as a teacher, maybe much more than a member of parliament.
we have seen on television, and we have read in the media and in the press, his stances and extremist and sectarian statements against arab regimes and others. this is in addition to his call to fight them and encourage young people to engage in battles that don’t concern them.
he has taken arms and publicly declared his fight against the syrian regime, and other acts and actions. thus, if proven officially, it will actually make him an unfit person to perform a sacred task such as educating future generations.
the second former mp who is the subject of our article is the colleague mubarak al-duwailah, who is known for his hostility to the former minister, jenan bushehri, who did not know the political life in kuwait as a woman with her strength and firmness in the fight against corruption and ‘saboteurs’, with respect to all former women ministers.
al-duwailah tweeted complaining that a layer of asphalt that gave way on the sahel club bridge which resulted in damage to the cars and hinted that the minister was responsible for it, although he did mention the minister by name.
this example clearly shows that brother mubarak did not find a fault in the former minister other than the existence of that hole… during her tenure.
so long live, madam.
